Interface and Data Logging Module
Our multifunctional interface and data logging module features 10 serial ports (6 x RS232/422/485 and 4 x RS232) and SDHC/SDXC based data logging functionality with now up to 128GB storage capacity.
Six high speed serial ports are individually configurable to RS232/422/485 with baudrates up to 230kBaud supported by a 64 byte hardware FIFOs. Four serial ports are RS232 only with a hardware handshake and baudrates up to 115kBaud.
Two independent DC/DC converters provide supply voltages of 5V, 8V or 12V to any of the serial ports (routing is software programmable). Supply voltage switching can be trigged by the internal scheduler, external devices or the command interface.
Maximum current for each supply voltage is 2A. Optionally, the two DC/DC converters can be parallelized allowing to supply up to 4A to one connected isntrument.
The Port10 modules primary applications include data logging and data routing in buoy based and ocean bottom sensor systems either standalone or in combination with any of our telemetry systems. Due to the power consumption, Port 10 is an ideal answer to be used for long-term deployments.
The Port 10 module seamlessly integrates with all our other communication system building blocks such as acoustic modems, VHF/UHF/Iridium communication solutions and auxiliary systems such as our navigation lighs, power management modules etc.
In order to minimize data tranffic over energy consuming and/or expensive communication links, the system provides extensive data filtering possibilites.
The firmware also contains drivers to control many of the most common oceanographic instruments (including AADI, Seabird, RDI sensors).
